We can probably repair a windshield if the damage is no bigger than a $1 coin, is not in the way of the driver’s line of vision, and is located at least 4 cm from the rim.
A windshield replacement is the way to go if:
- the damage extends to more than 3 points of impact or if it consists of a crack bigger than a $1 coin
- the damage is an impediment to the driver’s line of vision
- the damage is located less than 4 cm from the rim

Why does it matter where the impact occurred?
If the driver’s line of vision is where the impact occurred, this means damage repair is possible. However, it would be preferable to have the windshield replaced considering that your visibility is involved. If the impact happened too close to the vehicle body, it is not possible to repair the damage using the equipment required, which will result in having your windshield replaced.
Can I be assured that the chip will not show after the repair of my windshield?
Unfortunately, no. Having a windshield chip repaired will prevent additional damage from occurring on the glass while bringing back the vehicle’s structural integrity. You might also notice a small flaw on the location of the impact, which is normal. But most often, the look of your windshield will be greatly enhanced. Should you believe otherwise, we will give you a credit that you can use to pay for a new windshield or we can send it to your insurance company following a claim upon a windshield replacement.
